La Bancarella is back at the International Book Fair

This year, the National Association of Venezia Giulia and Dalmatia, together with the Multimedia Documentation Center of Julian, Istrian, Rijeka, and Dalmatian Culture, has organized, in collaboration with FederEsuli, La Bancarella. Salone del Libro dell'Adriatico Orientale (The Bank. Eastern Adriatic Book Fair) in the prestigious setting of the Turin International Book Fair. The stand in the Oval Pavilion showcases not only the book production of the main associations of Istrian, Rijeka, and Dalmatian exiles, but also presents the Exhibition of Dalmatian Exiles from Istria and Rijeka (MEDIF) with a summary of the multimedia installation created inside the Vittoriano.

Cesare Dell'Acqua, a painter yet to be discovered

A meeting was held at Casa Tartini in Piran dedicated to Cesare Dell'Acqua, one of the most fascinating and under-celebrated painters of the 19th-century Adriatic. The occasion was the presentation of the "2025 Complements" to the General Catalogue compiled by Flavio Tossi in 2021. The author, welcomed by Andrea Bartole, president of the Piran National Art Council, conversed with Kristjan Knez, retracing twenty years of research, discoveries, and a few strokes of luck. “Oh dear land of mine” interviews with Italians from Pola, Dignano, Gallesano and Valle

The project "Oh dear land of mine" by the Association of Italians of Pula and Istria - Free Municipality of Pula in Exile was born from the development of the book "Forgotten Exoduses, People of Dignano Who Go" by Maria Grazia Belci, who collected, through live recordings and images, the testimonies of exiles and citizens of Italian descent living in Pula and its surrounding area. Forty-four interviews were conducted, providing a significant glimpse into life before and after the events of World War II in the communities of Pula, Dignano, Gallesano, and Valle.
