Rijeka, 1991-2021. This year marks the first 30 years of dialogue with their hometown by the associations founded by Rijeka exiles: the Society of Rijeka Studies and the Association of Italian Rijekans in the World – Free Municipality of Rijeka in Exile (AFIM-LCFE).

The book edited by Giovanni Stelli and Marino Micich and published in 2010 narrates the long journey of European civilization and culture, which allowed the cultural return of the Fiume exiles to their city of origin, today belonging to the Republic of Croatia.

 

At the end of October, the meeting of the people of Fiume will be held in the capital of Carnaro, promoted by AFIM-Lcfe, chaired by Franco Papetti. An initiative that was unthinkable until a few years ago. The Society of Fiumani Studies will be present and will contribute with its own conference, which will be held on November 2nd at the Department of Italian Studies of the University of Fiume/Rijeka in collaboration with the department and the participation of AFIM, to enrich the detailed program of the meeting in its final phase.
