Anvgd Trieste Concert of Remembrance Cop

Remembrance Concert at the Tartini Conservatory in Trieste

The celebrations for Remembrance Day 2026 are drawing to a close with the Concert to be held on Saturday, March 21st at 10:30 a.m. at the “Giuseppe Tartini” Conservatory in Via Ghega, 12 in Trieste, organized by the Federation of Associations of Istrian, Fiume and Dalmatian Exiles.

The event is intended to crown a series of important initiatives held throughout the country, culminating with ceremonies at the Basovizza Foiba and the Chamber of Deputies. A varied musical program is planned, including contributions from institutional events, such as the moving and engaging testimony of Tony Concina, President of the Association of Italian Dalmatians in the World, delivered during the institutional ceremony held in the presence of President Sergio Mattarella at the Chamber of Deputies on February 10. On that occasion, the exile from Zadar addressed, with tact and determination, the key issues facing those who suffered the Yugoslav occupation at the end of World War II, subsequently abandoning their lands. During the concert, Gianfranco, the nephew of Blessed Don Francesco Bonifacio, will read excerpts from "Perdono."

The event will be attended by institutional representatives who sponsored the initiative, including the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Municipality of Trieste, and the Tartini Conservatory, as well as the promoting associations: FederEsuli, the Trieste Provincial Committee of the National Association of Venezia Giulia and Dalmatia, the National League, ADIM, the Association of Istrian Communities, the Association of Italians of Pula and Istria – Free Municipality of Pula in Exile, and the Giuliani nel Mondo Association.
