The National Association of Venezia Giulia and Dalmatia organizes the study conference entitled "The study of the past" on 9-10 June 2023 at the Dora Bassi Municipal Hall (Via Giuseppe Garibaldi, 7 – Gorizia), thanks to the contribution of Law 72/2001 and with the patronage of the Municipality of Gorizia From “holy” and “cursed” to European Capital of Culture 2025 – Gorizia between borders, autonomy and cross-border cooperation".

On this occasion, Italian and foreign historians, jurists and scholars with a multidisciplinary approach intend to address topics such as Gorizia in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Gorizia as a city symbol of the Great War; Gorizia in the Second World War between Italy, Germany and Yugoslavia; the border at home: the Peace Treaty, Nova Gorica and the exile community; Gorizia in the autonomous region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia; Gorizia as a cross-border city; the European Capital of Culture 2025.
