A new appointment with the project “Dante Adriaticus” that the provincial committee of Rome of the National Association of Venezia Giulia and Dalmatia is developing on behalf of the national headquarters thanks to a contribution from Law 72/2001. The exhibition dedicated to the relationship between Dante Alighieri and the Italianness of the eastern Adriatic will stop in Pula on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 November for a series of events sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, the Istria Region, the Municipality of Pula and the Dante Festival.

It starts on Saturday 13 November at 10:00 am at the Multipurpose Hall of the Italian Community in via Carrara 1 in Pola with the international conference of studies “Si com'a Pola presso del Carnaro…”, whose morning session will be introduced and coordinated by Prof. Donatella Schürzel (National Vice President of Anvgd and President of the Roman Committee). After the institutional greetings, speakers will be Egidio Ivetic (University of Padua), Giovanni Radossi (Centre for Historical Research of Rovinj), Maria Grazia Chiappori (Sapienza University of Rome), Kristina Fedel Timovski (Pula Committee of the Dante Alighieri Society), Eufemia Giuliana Budicin (National Association of Venezia Giulia and Dalmatia – Rome) and Eliana Moscarda Mirković (Juraj Dobrila University of Pula). The afternoon session (15:00-18:00) will be introduced and coordinated by Prof. Maria Grazia Chiappori (National Councillor of Anvgd) and will include the interventions of Kristjan Knez (Society of Historical and Geographical Studies, Piran and Italian Centre “Carlo Combi”, Koper), Stefano Pilotto (MIB Trieste School of Management), Donatella Schürzel (Niccolò Cusano University of Rome), Isabella Matticchio (University of Rijeka), Barbara Vinciguerra (Sapienza University of Rome), Marino Baldini (art historian and archaeologist) and Rita Tolomeo (Dalmatian Society of National History). Historians, art historians and literary scholars will provide different insights and perspectives on Dante's work with particular reference to its implications and influences on the development of Italianity in the eastern Adriatic.

At 20 pm the Multipurpose Hall of the Italian Community of Pula will also host the Dante's theatrical show "Si com'a Pola...", In which the Dantis Reading of the actress Isabel russinova, dressed in stage costumes by Regina Schrecker, will be accompanied by a series of images inspired by the songs of the Divine Comedy and kindly provided by Gianni Testa. The readings will alternate with captions by Paolo Pasquini, who also takes care of the direction and musical accompaniment.

On Sunday 14 November between 10:00 and 13:00 a guided thematic visit to the necropolis of Nesactium will take place, followed by an itinerary in the footsteps of Dante in the historic centre of Pula.
