Among the many initiatives that characterize 2021, which marks the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri, we would like to highlight an exhibition of postcards and images that demonstrate the evocative power of the figure of the Supreme Florentine Poet.

In contemporary times, the first commercial advertisements and political propaganda drew copiously from the repertoire of Dante's quotations and used the most popular representations of the “fugitive Ghibellin”.

Particularly interesting within the exhibition “Dante in postcard”, set up by Emanuela Accornero at Villa De Claricini Dornpacher in Bottenicco di Moimacco (UD) until November 9, are the propaganda images concerning the unredeemed lands. [LS]
