Tartini Electronic Event in Portorož
To make Giuseppe Tartini known and appreciated by the new generations through the electronic reinterpretation of his songs, played by internationally renowned DJs. This is the aim of the Tartini Electronic event and related initiatives, organized by the Italian Union as part of the TARTINI BIS project, co-financed by the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 Program.
On Saturday, March 8, 2025, the “Magazin Grando” in Portorož will host the Tartini Electronic event, with free admission and starting at 21 p.m. The evening will feature a line-up of DJs from the local and international scene, who will perform excerpts from Tartini's music reworked in an electronic key. The idea is to make the compositions of the Piran composer more accessible to a young audience and, at the same time, to highlight the ability of his music to be revived in contemporary forms while maintaining its recognizability, its momentum and making it current and appreciable even for a non-expert audience.
As collateral events, on 7 and 17 March 2025, respectively at the Italian Community “Santorio Santorio” in Capodistria from 11:00 to 13:00, and at Casa Tartini in Piran, from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 15:00, workshops aimed at schools will be organized, entitled “Tartini's music and its reinterpretations in contemporary genres: from rock to electronics”, which will aim to bring young people closer to the music of the Maestro delle Nazioni through sound experiments. The workshop will be introduced by musicologist Margherita
Channel and conducted by Maestro Tommaso Luison, violinist and expert teacher of baroque music. Participants will be able to explore new sounds thanks to interactive stations for the creation of electronic music, which will be presented by Andrej Rojec in collaboration with the artist Proteus Noir.
