Cordial and friendly meeting on Friday 30 July in the blue living room of the municipal building of Trieste where the mayor Roberto Dipiazza received the president of the Federation of Associations of Istrian, Fiume and Dalmatian Exiles Giuseppe de Vergottini, accompanied by the president of the National Association of Venezia Giulia and Dalmatia Renzo Codarin.

The Federation of Associations of Istrian, Fiuman and Dalmatian Exiles includes: the National Association of Venezia Giulia and Dalmatia, the Association of Istrian Communities, the Association of Fiuman Italians in the World (formerly the Free Municipality of Fiume in Exile), the Association of Polesani Italians in the World (formerly the Free Municipality of Pola in Exile) and the Association of Dalmatian Italians in the World (formerly the Free Municipality of Zara in Exile).
The meeting also focused on aspects related to the important signing of the agreement - signed the previous day in Zagreb by President de Vergottini and representatives of the Italian Union - which represents an important leap in quality in relations between the Organizations representing the world of Exiles and the Italian National Community in Croatia and Slovenia, with the aim of promoting cultural and institutional activities aimed at protecting and enhancing the cultural and historical identities of Istria, Fiume and Dalmatia, stimulating and encouraging in particular the development of joint projects.
Recalling the commitment made by the Municipal Administration for dialogue and collaboration with the neighboring realities of Slovenia and Croatia and the always close and constant relationship with the world of Exodus, Mayor Roberto Dipiazza positively evaluated this further step taken, which testifies to the will and commitment to look forward, opening new positive horizons of growth and common development. As a sign of esteem and appreciation for the work carried out by President Giuseppe de Vergottini, Mayor Roberto Dipiazza awarded him the bronze seal of the Municipality of Trieste.
