Francesco Bonifacio, an example of courage and faith
With the presentation of the book Francis Boniface: Life and Martyrdom of a Man of God (ARES, Milan 2025) held at the headquarters of the Italian Community of Fiume, the author Mario Ravalico and the historian and theologian Marko Medved have studied the history of the blessed Francesco Bonifacio, an Istrian priest murdered in Crassiza near Grožnjan in 1946 and beatified because he was martyred in hatred of faith.
The meeting, also attended by Archbishop Mate Uzinić of Rijeka, began with a testimony from Gianfranco Bonifacio, the Blessed's nephew, before moving on to the various chapters of the book: the birth, life, death, and importance of Francis Boniface's story for us today.
