The Young People of the Italian National Community are organizing the Festival of Identities.
Koper is preparing to host a week dedicated to art, music, and cultural dialogue. From August 24th to 30th, the historic spaces of Palazzo Gravisi-Buttorai will host the Identity Artscapes Festival, an initiative born with the aim of forging new connections between diverse cultural realities and promoting multiculturalism and collaboration through creativity.
The Festival is organized by the Youth Association of the Italian National Community, together with DM+, Društvo mladih Slovencev v Italiji, the Association of Young Slovenians in Italy, and Muravidéki Magyar Ifjúsági Szervezet, the Association of Young Hungarians in Slovenia.
This festival places communities and their cultural identities at its center, using art and music as tools for encounter and discussion, particularly among the diverse national communities within the cross-border area.
The event's program includes several events throughout the week. Highlights include an exhibition, a concert, a pop-up market, and a collaborative art workshop featuring artists and musical groups.
The initiative is part of a broader collaborative effort between young people from diverse linguistic and cultural communities. The goal is to foster mutual understanding and create opportunities for discussion through shared artistic experiences.
Identity Artscapes Festival is supported by the Italian Union, the Youth Office of the Ministry of Education and Training of Slovenia, the Municipality of Koper, the People's University of Trieste, the Capodistria Regional Council, and the Italian Community "Santorio Santorio" of Koper.
