The papers of the Royal Education Office of Pula, preserved by the State Archives of Gorizia, constitute an extraordinarily interesting source of knowledge about the Istrian school system in the first half of the twentieth century. Transferred to Gorizia shortly before Pula's annexation to Yugoslavia, these documents were entrusted to a special Administrative Office charged with managing the remaining files.

Today, the archive collection “Provveditorato agli Studi di Gorizia – Ufficio stralcio di Pola (1908-1951)” offers scholars and history enthusiasts the opportunity to explore little-known aspects of school, society, and everyday life.

This will be discussed on Tuesday, June 16, at 5:30 pm in the Dora Bassi Room at Via Garibaldi 7 (Gorizia) during the meeting entitled "The Pula Diary – The Reorganization of the Pula Education Authority Collection – School Memories in the Eastern Adriatic." Luca Olivo, curator of the collection, will speak, following an introduction by Martina Schuster (director of the Gorizia State Archives) and Grazia Tatò (President of the Istrian Society of Archaeology and National History).
