The documentary "Fly Dove, Trieste 1954" on the Prime platform

On 26 October 2024, the 70th anniversary of the definitive return of Trieste to Italy (26 October 1954) as a result of the London Memorandum was celebrated.

On this anniversary, the documentary retraces the long and winding path of Trieste's reunion with its motherland, focusing not only on the historical aspects of the event but above all on the cultural and social aspects that profoundly impacted the evolution of Trieste's customs during those years. Above all, the presence of the Anglo-Americans, who administered the city for nine years (from 1945 to 1954), following the horrors experienced by the people of Trieste during the 40 days of Tito's occupation.

An exceptional testimonial – the journalist Toni Capuozzo – accompanies the viewer to the places and events of the time, through the story of post-war Italian and Trieste society and culture.

All enriched and supported by the testimony of the historian Paolo Mieli and from the participation of the famous journalist Bruno Pizzul.

Also noteworthy is the participation of Italy Jacket, an Istrian exile, who fled her homeland to find refuge in Trieste.

Produced by Venice Film in collaboration with Rai Documentaries,  directed by Renzo Carbonera, the documentary was made with the support of MIC – Directorate General for Cinema and AudiovisualANVGD (National Association of Venezia Giulia and Dalmatia), CDM (Multimedia Documentation Center), City of Trieste e FVG Film Commission and can be seen on the platform Amazon Prime:
