The never-ending drama of Venezia Giulia and Dalmatia in the post-war period

As part of the initiatives of the Working Group for the knowledge of the history of the Istrian, Fiuman and Dalmatian Exiles, the General Directorate of School Regulations, Evaluation and Internationalization of the National Education System, in collaboration with the Associations of Istrian, Fiuman and Dalmatian Exiles, is organizing the XI National Seminar aimed at teachers of schools of all levels, aimed at deepening the knowledge of a historical period particularly significant for the populations involved.

The 2021 Seminar is entitled “The endless drama of Venezia Giulia and Dalmatia in the post-war period” and will take place in Trieste from 25 to 28 October: registrations must be made from 11 to 20 October 2021 at the link

The proceedings will open on Monday 25 October afternoon with reports by Andrea Ungari From the Peace Treaty to the 1954 Memorandum, by Giuseppe Parlato The Trieste Question in Italian Politics and by Giorgio Baroni Trieste “American” between verses and other literatureThis part of the work can be followed live on YouTube channel of the Multimedia Documentation Center of Julian, Istrian, Rijeka and Dalmatian Culture (CDM).

The following day includes a visit to Warehouse 26 of the Old Port of Trieste with the household goods of the exiles, to the Risiera di San Sabba, to the National Monument of the Foiba of Basovizza and to the Museum of the Refugee Collection Centre of Padriciano, while on 27 October the city of Pula will be visited: in the Istrian capital there will be meetings with representatives and institutions of the indigenous Italian minority. On the last day the work will conclude with the presentation of the National School Competition 10 February “For Love of Country!”.
