The Northeast united by the Mediterranean flavour with its capital in Kvarner
From 9 to 13 September 2026, Mali Lošinj in Kvarner, the European Region of Gastronomy, will become one of the centers of Mediterranean gastronomy with the fourteenth edition of the international festival Taste the Mediterranean.
The 2026 edition takes on a special significance. Kvarner has been awarded the title of European Region of Gastronomy 2026, and Taste the Mediterranean brings to the island a tangible representation of this region's richness. Haute cuisine, local produce, education, tourism, sustainability, and Mediterranean culture become part of a single narrative.
The Festival will include the Alhambra and Bellevue Hotels in Čikat Bay , Mali Lošinj's main restaurants, the Fish Market, and the Ambroz Haračić High School. In addition to signature dinners and tastings, there will also be masterclasses for students and discussions on tourism, agriculture, and the effects of climate change on local food systems.
For the second time, Mali Lošinj hosts an event bringing together award-winning chefs, winemakers, food producers, and restaurant leaders from numerous countries and regions of Croatia. Last year, Europa Adriatica Nordest collaborated, bringing the Gondola from Venice.
