On Monday 4 June at 18:00 pm at the Casa del Ricordo in Rome (Via di San Teodoro, 72) the series of conferences dedicated to the culture of Istria, Fiume and Dalmatia over the last three centuries will conclude with an in-depth study dedicated to the post-war period, introduced and moderated by Prof. Rita Tolomeo (Dalmatian Society of National History of Rome).

Serbian historian Bogdan Zivkovic with “Yugoslavia, PCI and the question of the Italian minority. 50s-60s” will address the issue of the Italians “remaining” in Tito’s Yugoslavia after the Peace Treaty of 1947. Professor Donatella Schürzel, historian and scholar of Eastern Adriatic literature, will present “The cultural world in relation to the Julian-Dalmatian question from the Second World War to the end of the 900th century”, analyzing how the story of the Foibe and the Exodus was received, removed or exploited in Italy. Dr. Marino Micich, Director of the Historical Archive Museum of Rijeka, in his report “The world of associations of the Julian-Dalmatian Exodus. 43-89” will focus on the forms of aggregation that allowed exiles to preserve their identity and ask for protection of their rights.

Speakers from the conferences held over the past three years will also be present. At the end of this particularly significant event, there will be a toast with all the attendees.
