The University of Veneto has published the call for applications for the 2026 "MARIA CAVALLARIN" award.

The prize is awarded by bequest of Mrs. Maria Cavallarin to recognize original research on topics of anthropology and economic and human geography relating to Dalmatia (her homeland) and the islands of the Venetian Levant, and to keep their important history and tradition alive.

Scholars of any nationality who have not turned 40 by November 30, 2026, are eligible to participate in the award.

The prize consists of a €3.000 (three thousand) cheque awarded by the Commission to an unpublished and original study on topics ranging from social, institutional, artistic and cultural history to anthropology and economic geography, archaeology and architecture.

Applications to participate must be addressed to the Presidency of the University of Veneto no later than 12.00 on 23 November 2026.
