Fiume literature officially becomes part of the heritage of LETS – Trieste Literature Museum. Yesterday morning, the complete collection of five bilingual boxed sets created by the Association of Italian Fiume citizens in the World in collaboration with the Italian Community of Fiume and the Department of Italian Studies of the University of Fiume, as part of the "Cultural Return to Fiume" project, was delivered to director Riccardo Cepach, with the support of the Municipality of Trieste – Department of Museums. The series includes volumes dedicated to the great protagonists of 20th-century Fiume culture, published annually: Enrico Morovich ( An Italian from Fiume , 2021), Paolo Santarcangeli ( In Babylonian Captivity , 2022), Franco Vegliani ( The Frontier , 2023), Osvaldo Ramous ( The Children of the Comet and Scattered Prose , 2024) and, more recently, the Gino Brazzoduro – Paolo Santarcangeli Correspondence (2025). Each bilingual box set, in Italian and Croatian, was presented on the occasion of All Saints' Day in the Council Chamber of Rijeka's City Hall, becoming a consolidated fixture in the city's cultural life and distributed to students enrolled in Croatian language courses at Rijeka's Croatian high schools.

Unfortunately, the project's continuity was interrupted due to a lack of funding under Law 72/2001, without any official explanation being given. This period of stagnation, however, has not halted the promoters' commitment, determined to introduce Rijeka's authors to an ever-wider audience. Two new events are scheduled for this fall at LETS: September 30th, dedicated to Osvaldo Ramous, with the participation of all the organizations involved in the project, and October 28th, focused on the Gino Brazzoduro–Paolo Santarcangeli Correspondence. A third event, the date of which will be announced later, will focus on Enrico Morovich, his writings, and the famous "pupoli," who will also be featured in an exhibition dedicated to him.

The LETS – Trieste Literature Museum is a museum dedicated to the city's extraordinary literary tradition, a crossroads of languages, cultures, and great European authors. Through manuscripts, books, photographs, documents, multimedia installations, and interactive exhibits, the museum explores Trieste's connection with writers such as Italo Svevo, Umberto Saba, James Joyce, Scipio Slataper, Giani Stuparich, Fulvio Tomizza, and Claudio Magris. It is not just a place for preserving memory, but a vibrant hub for meetings, exhibitions, and cultural initiatives aimed at promoting dialogue between cultures and enhancing the city's literary heritage.

With the addition of this collection, Rijeka authors finally find a permanent place within the prestigious LETS cultural program. The boxed sets will be available for consultation at the museum and will constitute an important resource for scholars, students, and readers interested in learning more about the history of 20th-century Rijeka literature and the work that has been carried out in Rijeka for years to rediscover and enhance its heritage. This is an act of loyalty to the legacy of figures like Lucio Toth, who said at a conference: "The day the young inhabitants of our Adriatic cities feel our culture is an integral part of their own, we will have returned home." This awareness also informs the commitment of the people of Rijeka.
