This July has been a decidedly intense month, fitting well with our constant and passionate commitment to reporting on the significant number of events we've followed, experienced, and shared. Our president Lucia Bellaspiga explains this well in her article, announcing the upcoming commemoration in preparation for the tragic anniversary of Vergarolla.

We've chosen the cover title to reaffirm the expression that, with conviction and heartfelt, often comes from our hearts: distant yet close. ... and this time with a phrase that is typically ours: SPARNISSADI but united, reiterating the words with which our unforgettable Lino Vivoda remembered the historic journey of our Pula Arena , indicating the spiritual bond of these pages with our people, pulverized by history almost everywhere in the world.

Yes, because this month marked the birthday of our historic newspaper, founded in Pula on July 29, 1945, and published continuously for 81 years. At the same time, allow the writer to also recall his nine years as editor-in-chief of L'Arena di Pola.
