The work of Prefect Mori in Istria
The Society of Historical and Geographical Studies of Piran organizes the presentation of the volume by Stefano Felcher and Paolo Strazzolini dedicated to Cesare Primo Mori and the land transformation works in the Lower Friuli and in Istria between the two world wars.
The experience in Friuli and Istria of Iron Prefect, Senator Cesare Primo Mori, represented an authentic leap forward in civilization and development, which occurred through the sublimation of the inestimable value of water resources.
It materialized with the reclamation and recovery of the territory of Bassa Friulana. The work continued with the construction of the civil water network, still in force, in the Istrian peninsula.
For Italy, the figure and moral stature of Mori have represented a shining example of intellectual honesty, love and dedication to the Fatherland. An example that indicates, today as tomorrow, the virtuous reference of the spirit of service.
