Hidden places of the First World War from the Carnic Alps to the Adriatic Sea

Vinko Avsenak, Karl Pallasmann and Marco Pascoli, scholars of the First World War with particular reference to the Italian-Austrian front that developed in the present-day Friuli Venezia Giulia and in the Isonzo valley, have published the trilingual Italian-German-Slovenian book for Edizioni Saisera Hidden places of the First World War from the Carnic Alps to the Adriatic Sea.

This volume draws on decades of research into the history and sites of the First World War (1914–1918), with particular reference to the Italian-Austrian front between the Puster Valley and the Adriatic Sea. The book's chapters are organized according to a geographical classification that takes into account the military perspective prevalent during the war, which at times diverged from current political and administrative boundaries or local communities' perceptions of belonging.
