Mattarella met with the Italian National Community in Croatia

The official visit of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, took place on Monday 7 July in Croatia, a country which these days celebrates its twelfth anniversary since its entry into the European Union, which took place on 1 July 2013.

Upon his arrival in Zagreb, Mattarella was received by the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, at the Presidential Palace, welcomed with a welcoming ceremony, the playing of the respective national anthems and military honours.

As scheduled, the talks between the two Heads of State and those extended to the delegations took place.

At the end of the bilateral meetings, the two Presidents released statements to the press.

Mattarella's commitment in Croatia continued with the meeting with representatives of the Italian communities and the staff of the Italian Embassy in Zagreb.

The President then met with the Speaker of the Croatian Parliament Gordan Jandroković at the Parliament Building.

Afterwards, he met with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, in Banski Dvori.

Before returning to Rome, Mattarella laid a wreath at the Monument to the Fatherland.
