The “Ierimo del Filzi” Association, which brings together and maintains connections between former students of the “Fabio Filzi” boarding school in Grado (GO), which welcomed the children of refugees from Istria, Fiume and Dalmatia in the immediate post-war period, awarded Rodolfo Ziberna the “Medaia de Carton”.

This is a symbolic honor that, in the spirit of a "climate of comradely, ancient friendship", the association awards "with the affection, gratitude and consideration due to those who we believe have, with ability, intelligence, generosity, achieved appreciable goals, such as to bring prestige to the entire community".

Ziberna was a provincial and national representative of the National Association of Venezia Giulia and Dalmatia, a manager of the autonomous region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and is currently the Mayor of Gorizia, which will be the European Capital of Culture 2025 together with Nova Gorica.
