In recent days, an important in-depth meeting of the #GO2025FENICE project took place with Councilor Patrizia Artico of the Gorizia Municipal Council delegated to the European Capital of Culture (coordination, events and development of commercial accommodation facilities), relations with GECT GO and Zavod GO! 2025, Communication.

PARTICIPANTS

The meeting with the Councilor was attended by Victor Baroni – Coordinator of #GO2025FENICE, Edvard Popit – President of the Association of Music Schools of the Slovenian Littoral (Zveza primorskih glasbenih šol) which is the Project Partner of the Municipality of Venice for #GO2025FENICE, Alexandra Schettino – Councilor of the Association and Director of the SCGV Emil Komel of Gorizia, Franca Padovan – President of SCGV Emil Komel of Gorizia.

TARGET NEW GENERATIONS

The meeting focused on the project aimed at the new generations and overcoming language barriers with the involvement of students of the Slovenian minority in Italy and the Italian minority in Slovenia. The project pays particular attention to overcoming the isolation situations experienced by the youngest in the pandemic and post-pandemic situation. The use of technology in education and training - acquired during the COVID19 crisis - will become a tool for cross-border integration among the new generations.

BILINGUAL EDUCATIONAL KIT

Specifically, we will work to involve schools in the creation of a creative and original version of the Ode to Joy (European Anthem) through participation in a musical competition. In this regard, with the support of the Teatro la Fenice in cooperation with the Emil Komel School of Gorizia, the project includes a workshop dedicated to minorities that will be held at the Fenice in Venice. This will allow the creation of a bilingual educational kit, free for all schools, for teaching the Ode to Joy.

CREATIVE WORKSHOPS EUROPEANS

The 16 schools of the Municipality of Venice that will register for the “New Generations Cross-Border Music Competition #GO2025” will be able to access eight European creative music training laboratories specifically designed and created by Fenice Education. For the Slovenian part, the training of children and the competition open to 11 schools will be managed by the Association of Music Schools of the Slovenian Coast.

HYMN TO JOY CONTEST

At the end of the workshops, each school participating in the competition will produce a video clip in which the children will sing the Ode to Joy, with their own original creativity. This will be followed by voting by a popular jury that will express itself for 50% with the like love vote on Facebook (in Italy) and like on YouTube (in Slovenia). A technical jury will evaluate the works for the other 50% and will identify the two winning classes of the competition (one Italian and one Slovenian).

GO! EVENT 2025

In May 2025, the two winning classes will perform together with the Teatro la Fenice orchestra in Gorizia on the occasion of the event “Go! 2025 Nova Gorica and Gorizia European Capital of Culture 2025”.

ORGANIC SWEET AND MUSICAL ALPHABET KM ZERO

The project's activities also include the creation of a Musical Alphabet for teaching Italian and Slovenian to children and an organic dessert in the shape of a musical note. Skilled pastry chefs will unite Venice and Slovenia using only zero-mile ingredients. A successful product for GO! 2025 will be created with the aim of enhancing European ingenuity and the circular economy.
