The documentary “Nel tuo occhio” (In Your Eye) premieres on Rai 5 on Friday, April 10th at 16:25 PM. It features a portrait of Carlo Michelstaedter, a philosopher, poet, and painter, one of the most interesting figures of early twentieth-century Europe, who committed suicide at a very young age.

“Nel tuo occhio” presents itself as a physical and spiritual journey to recreate the gaze of a young thinker who lived his time too quickly, and aims to be a tribute to the word, memory, and beauty of a borderland, intertwining the thought of Carlo Michelstaedter with landscapes, testimonies, and visual languages.

The film is a tribute to Carlo Michelstaedter, an Italian philosopher and poet of the early 900th century, and aims to explore his thought and life through a journey that links his philosophy to places and testimonies.

Directed by Massimiliano Finazzer Flory, starring Massimo Cacciari, Marcello Veneziani, Paolo Magris, Quirino Principe, Sergio Campailla, Gian Mario Villalta, Antonella Gallarotti, and Carolina Lantieri Piccolomini. Featuring Ariella Reggio and Ludmilla Voronkina.

Filmed in Gorizia and dedicated to the first cross-border capital in the history of Europe, GO! 2025, the documentary was produced with the support of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with Palazzo del Cinema / Hiša Filma.
