Gabriele D'Annunzio

New publications on Gabriele d'Annunzio

The enigma of d'Annunzio and then Rol and Licio Gelli….

On May 5th, Laura Curtale's book will be released with an unpublished letter from the Poet to a medium: from the interview that the writer and TV host gave to CulturaIdentità, in addition to the surprise of a secret and "esoteric" D'Annunzio, an unpublished portrait of Licio Gelli emerges, in whose Villa in Arezzo Laura Curtale was a guest, where she had the opportunity to discover the love of “venerable master” for literature and poetry during walks with him in the garden of the Villa and along the swimming pool built especially for his beloved daughter who died in a car accident…

From the very first exchange of words with Laura Curtale, Roman, graduated in Italian Philology, teacher, author and curator of cultural programs and spaces, one can grasp the play of references, symbols, coincidences that after a century still penetrate the mystery of the Infinite that already obsessed Gabriele d'Annunzio. Laura Curtale publishes for Ianieri The D'Annunzio Enigma, a volume made of "curious concordances and omens, signs and warnings". The theme of the great Poet of Abruzzo goes beyond curiosity and esoteric intrigue. Curtale makes us understand that the tension of going beyond belongs to her too; the desire to join heaven and earth, between visible and invisible. The D'Annunzio Enigma it is the story of Gabriele d'Annunzio, a Freemason, wavering in his religious syncretism between the sacred and the profane, esoteric practices and pagan beliefs, devoted to Dante, Michelangelo, his spiritual fathers, to Saint Francis, to Saint Bernard of Clairvaux.

How was this book born?

A few years ago I was hosting a program on a local TV, the literary space of those days was dedicated to Gabriele d'Annunzio. I was contacted by a medium who told me that she had written a letter in a trance state, the letter was signed by the Poet. From there I began to study Gabriele d'Annunzio historically and esoterically. It was a need of mine to understand the reason for so much heartfelt concern of the poet in expressing himself in that way, that's why The enigma.

What are the mysteries?

Mysteries or enigmas that can lead the reader to reflect and think. For example, who made him fall from the window of the Vittoriale on August 13, 1922 in the famous Flight of the Archangel as the poet himself called it? Two days later he would have met Nitti and Mussolini and who knows if the history of Italy would have gone in the direction we know, given that shortly thereafter there would have been the March on Rome.

The name, the ancients said, is an omen. D'Annunzio, of the Annunzio.

Gabriele Rapagnetta then d'Annunzio, from the name of his grandmother or rather the announcer, was loved, hated. After all, it is the existence of someone who makes his life "inimitable", takes it to the extreme in every field, lives it in continuous movement like an oxymoron between life and death. A fighting Archangel who, however, brings peace through actions and words, a mediator between the parties; the Italian political parties, in this case. Read the book and you will understand why, I do not want to reveal anything to my Dear Reader.

Do you believe in guardian stars, in spirit guides?

I believe that in our existence we are never alone, the souls of the deceased can guide us by inspiring in the spirit and in the heart the right path to follow. We just need to listen to our soul and be ready to open up to the mystery, because humanity is a mystery, like the energy that governs living beings in the spirit.

She devoted herself to the study of the paranormal, approaching the circles of Gustavo Rol. The great psychic read in closed books, painted from a distance, dematerialized objects also according to the testimony of his great friend Federico Fellini. What miracle did she witness?

I am a very curious and not gullible person, so I need proof, certainties and, when possible, I look for them. A friend of mine in Turin told me that she lost an earring at Rol's house while they were "experimenting". That evening everyone helped her look for that jewel, but it was not found; it was an earring that was very dear to her because it had been given to her by her husband. When she returned home, late at night, Rol called her at home telling her to open a drawer of one of her pieces of furniture, the earring was there.

She was an attentive witness and guest of Licio Gelli, the “venerable master” of P2, at Villa Wanda in Arezzo

Liceo Gelli, to my surprise, followed my broadcast and was fascinated by my love for literature, so he decided to meet me and invite me to Villa Wanda where he lived. Count Gelli deeply loved poetry. He wrote many books of poetry and asked me to evaluate his works. I went to visit him several times. I met an intelligent, witty, but deeply saddened man. His pain shone through in every speech he spoke, he spoke to me about his daughter who died in a car accident, a pain that he carried in his heart and in his gaze. I walked in the garden of his villa where there is a mosaic pool, I love swimming and Gelli told me that the pool was built for his daughter and that at the time it was no longer usable because she had died. He told me that he would have happily renovated it, if I had wanted to swim; I understood that hearing the sweet sound of water again when swimming was like reliving the sensation that his daughter was still alive. We know what history has told us about this man, well I did not meet a monster, but a sensitive, human man, who in a painful moment of my life spoke to me and helped me as a good father can do with a daughter; my father had been dead for 10 years.

"The mediumistic letter”

7-11-2011 (1922)

(…) I am the Archangel of the land of Italy, my flight over her is the flight of an Archangel whose weapon is the aircraft, the word and no longer the sword.

Help the cry of a Hero, help the children of Italy.

I am alone, the stars no longer speak to me, my hand closed in an iron fist, longs for revenge.

Listen to my cry, oh Italian people made of art, music, color, lock up the wicked and give Light to my Ark without tears.

We must live and believe in the Unity between brothers. (…)
