From July 10 to September 30, 2026, a photography exhibition will be held to celebrate and publicize the history of Fertilia and its community, marking the 90th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone of the city. The exhibition will be held in two locations: in the lobby of Alghero-Fertilia Airport and on Via Pola in Fertilia, with an open-air installation transforming the center into a true open-air museum.

The exhibition is dedicated to one of the best-preserved examples of 20th-century Italian rationalist architecture and to women, the true protagonists of the rebirth of this area in northern Sardinia, which welcomed hundreds of Istrian, Fiume, and Dalmatian exiles after the Second World War.

Fertilia, thanks to the work of many associations and the support of institutions, is embarking on a third rebirth, strongly desired by its residents. It is increasingly becoming a national landmark for both rationalist architecture and the history of the eastern border. It embodies the values ​​of inclusion in a diverse and multicultural community that has demonstrated the true meaning of resilience, understood as the ability to rebuild a life from scratch, always displaying great dignity, based on strong values ​​and a firm belief in the future.
