Perpetuating Memory: MEDIF presentation in Verona

Verona confirms its position as a leading figure on the national cultural scene thanks to the talent of its professionals. Wednesday March 4 from 16:30 the Order of Architects PPC of the Province of Verona proposes the meeting "Perpetuating the Memory. The Italian Eastern Border Exhibition at the Altar of the Fatherland” in the spaces of the M15 Association, headquarters of the Order, in via Santa Teresa 2.

The event was created to tell the story of the national exhibition MEDIF (Exhibition on Dalmatian, Istrian and Fiume Exiles), the highly successful exhibition hosted at the Vittoriano complex in Rome, promoted by the Federation of Associations of Istrian, Fiume and Dalmatian Exiles – with the Adriatic Coordination, the Multimedia Documentation Centre and the National Association of Venice, Giulia and Dalmatia – and supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture.

The project is entirely designed by Veronese professionals, who oversaw the concept, multimedia setup, and technical implementation. The initiative's significance is evidenced by the praise from the highest levels of government, having received the attention of President Sergio Mattarella and the support of Minister of Culture Alessandro Giuli.

The meeting, curated by Alberto Vignolo, Vice President of the Order of Architects and Director of the Magazine Architects Verona, will open with greetings from the President of the Order, Amedeo Margotto. The speech will follow Massimo Mamoli, director of Arena and a member of the MEDIF Scientific Committee, who will explore the value of testimony. The debate will get underway with Davide Rossi professor at the University of Trieste and vice-president of Federesuli and representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Fabrizio Magani ed Emanuel Merlin (both connected), to analyze the historical importance of the project eighty years after the end of the Second World War.

The technical heart of the meeting will be entrusted to the architects Massimiliano Tita, curator of the exhibition and Emanuele Bugli and Andrea Frate, co-designers of the ABCPLUS Studio of Verona, who will reveal the "weaving" of the exhibition path from the initial idea to the final installation. dynamic narrative setup, Designed to engage visitors not only historically but also emotionally through an immersive journey, the museum is conceived to stimulate their attention through variations in geometry and perspective. The experience is guided by two key elements: a dark, textured envelope that evokes the depth of history, and a continuous, suspended Corten steel ribbon, symbolizing time travel.

He will complete the works Gaia Passamonti di Visible thought It will focus on the principles of the digital narrative project that has succeeded in recounting a complex and dramatic historical event to a wide audience—from schools to tourists to casual visitors—without losing sight of historical rigor and emotional engagement.

The event represents an important opportunity to reflect on how the technical and creative skills of the Verona area can become interpreters of a shared collective memory, transforming history into an experience of high civic and scientific value.
