The National Dalmatian Association announces that, following numerous requests, the deadline for sending and voting for photos in the “My Exodus” photography contest, whose jury is chaired by Senator Roberto Menia, first signatory of Law 10/2024 establishing Remembrance Day, has been extended to midnight on Friday 92 May 2004.

We remind you of the rules for participating in this initiative which enjoys the patronage of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.

“MY EXODUS”
2024 edition

The photographic contest “My exodus” (hereinafter “Contest”) is promoted by the National Dalmatian Association (AND), CF 0507044100 with registered office in Piazza Firenze 27, 00186 – Rome.

The Contest is governed by these regulations (hereinafter also referred to as the “Regulations”) which prospective participants are required to consult before participating.

Please remember that participants declare and guarantee that they are the exclusive and legitimate owners of all rights to the images sent. The final judgments are unquestionable.

1. Duration of the Contest

The Contest will take place from February 10th to April 10th 2024 [extended to midnight on Friday May 24th 00] on the Association's Facebook and Instagram pages.

2. Contest participation methods and requirements

Participation in the contest is free and open to all and requires submission of the photo via email to associazionenazionaledalmata@gmail.com , which will publish it on the Association's social media pages.

To participate in the Contest you will need to:

§ HISTORICAL SECTION: send a photo that portrays places, situations, the participant or his/her family members involved in the Julian-Dalmatian Exodus after the Second World War (period shots, family photos, memories, etc.)

§ CONTEMPORARY SECTION: send a shot that evokes and/or artistically represents the sense of exile, always connecting to the theme of the Julian-Dalmatian Exodus (penalty of exclusion from the contest)

§ that the photo does not contain other trademarks

You can participate with just one shot.

All natural persons of legal age who have a Facebook or Instagram profile can participate in the Contest. Persons who are not yet 18 years old can participate in the Contest only with the authorization of their parents or legal representative.

3. Announcement of winners and awarding of prizes

At the end of the period specified in Article 1 of this Regulation, the author of the shot that has received the most likes at 22:00 PM on April 30, 2024 will be proclaimed the winner. A second winner will be decided by the Jury Chaired by Senator Roberto Menia and composed of the Board of Directors of the Association. The likes counted as valid will be only those given to the photo sent by email and published on the Facebook or Instagram AND pages.

The 2 final winners will receive free publications and DVDs from the Association, as well as having their vintage photo/work published on the AND Facebook cover in rotation.

The winner will be announced by May 10th. The winner will be contacted by the AND secretariat in the days following the closing of the Contest. Acceptance of the prize must take place no later than 10 days after notification of the win. In the event of refusal by the winner to accept the prize, the participant who, according to this Regulation, ranked immediately after the excluded winner will be awarded.

The winner of the Contest will not be able to contest the prizes awarded.

The winner must communicate to the Association his/her contact details (name and surname, e-mail, telephone number and shipping address) only and exclusively for the purposes of delivery of the prizes referred to in this article.

In the event of acceptance and subsequent failure to enjoy the prize for reasons not attributable to the Association, the prize will still be considered awarded. The winner will have nothing more to claim. The prizes will be delivered by post or courier directly to the winner's address. Since the delivery of the Prize is made by transporters/shippers (couriers, express couriers or post), no responsibility can be attributed to the Association in the event of delivery of the prize, the external packaging of which has evidently been tampered with, broken and/or ruined. Therefore, the winner, or whoever has been appointed to collect the prize, is invited, before signing the delivery note, to carefully check that the prize packaging does not show obvious signs of tampering, breakage or otherwise, such as to suggest that the prize has been damaged in whole or in part and/or stolen in whole or in part. In the event of legitimate doubt, the winner has the right to reject the prize with written motivation, or to withdraw the prize subject to verification. This reservation must be clearly indicated on the delivery note. The Association assumes no responsibility in the event of non-delivery of prizes due to incorrect addresses or personal data indicated by the winner or due to postal errors or in the event of loss of the coupon, or serious delays in delivery, due to the postal or logistics service.

4. Copyright and use of photographs

Each participant in this Contest grants AND the right to use, free of charge and without time or space limits, the photographs taken for the purposes of this Contest. Therefore, participants authorize AND to use and publish on social media, and/or any other means of dissemination, their photographs taken during the Contest and shared on the aforementioned social media. Each participant releases the Association from any liability, including towards any subjects (including minors) depicted in the photographs who, therefore, must give the same participant consent to the use, publication and/or dissemination of their images.

In any reuse of photographs performed by the Association on Facebook and Instagram, the author will be cited with his/her “nick name” used on the social network or with his/her name in the event that the author himself/herself declares it and makes an actual request for it.

The Association will therefore not be responsible for any claims and/or actions of third parties including, by way of example and not limited to, requests for compensation or complaints for violation of copyright and/or image rights and for damages relating to the content of the photographs.

5. Responsibilities and guarantees of participants

By participating in the Contest, the authors of the photos automatically declare, for all legal purposes, that:

1. the photos uploaded for the purposes of participation in the Contest: (i) do not contain obscene, explicitly sexual, violent, offensive or defamatory material; (ii) do not contain material discriminating on the basis of sex, ethnicity or religion; and (iii) do not contain political material;

2. It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure that the publication of the photographs does not raise any type of legal dispute, for which the Association is relieved of any responsibility.

Furthermore, participants declare and guarantee that they are the exclusive and legitimate owners of all copyright, exploitation (including economic) and reproduction rights of the contents of the uploaded photographs, indemnifying and holding harmless the National Dalmatian Association from any claim and/or action by third parties that it may suffer as a consequence of the violation of what has been declared, including any legal costs, including extrajudicial ones.

6. Acceptance of the Regulations

Participation in the Contest implies for participants the unconditional and total acceptance of the rules and clauses contained in this Regulation, without any limitation.

7. Miscellaneous

This Contest is in no way sponsored, administered or associated with Facebook and Instagram or any other social network. The social network is used solely as a technical vehicle for communication. Any information provided by participants will not be managed by Facebook or Instagram but by AND. The social network is used solely as a platform and they cannot be held responsible in the event of problems. Each participant releases Facebook and Instagram from any liability relating to his/her photography.

The Contest referred to in this Regulation is not subject to the rules on competitions and prize-giving events and falls within the cases of exclusion indicated in Article 6 of Presidential Decree 26 October 2001 n. 430.

8. Means used to publicise the Regulation

The Contest will be advertised in accordance with these Regulations through communications via the Internet and any other means deemed suitable by the Association.
