Proceedings of two conferences on Fiume published

Rich in ideas, data and perspectives, the international conference recently held in the Council Chamber of Rijeka on the theme “The forgotten history of the peoples of Europe: the city of Rijeka in the golden years of Giovanni Ciotta and other examples”, organized by the Free State of Rijeka Association, the Rijeka Civic Museum, the Coppieters Foundation, in collaboration with the Society of Rijeka Studies, the Hungarian Liszt Cultural Institute and the Italian Community of Rijeka, with the support of the City of Rijeka and the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

We refer you to the detailed report of the study day atarticle published in the newspaper The Voice of the People, but we would like to point out that on this occasion the Proceedings of the international conference held in the capital of Carnaro last year on the centenary of the birth of the Free State of Fiume were presented by Danko Švorinić of the Free State of Fiume Association, also published with the contribution of the Society of Fiumani Studies. The “Collection of Proceedings of the International Scientific Conference for the 100 Years of the Foundation of the Free State of Fiume (1920-1924)” was published in a bilingual Italian and Croatian version.
The volume contains scientific contributions by Italian, Croatian, Hungarian historians: Grubisa, Stelli, Pupo, Micich, Medved, D'Alessio, Ordasi and others. It is a result of the collaboration between the Association of the Free State of Fiume, the Civic Museum of Fiume-Rijeka, the Italian Community, and the Society of Fiumani Studies. Patronage of the Municipality of Fiume-Rijeka and the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.

The conference, the result of the collaboration between the Department of Human Sciences and Innovation for the Territory of the University of Como, the University of Rijeka-Fiume and the Society of Fiumani Studies, took place on 28 October 2020 and saw the participation of speakers such as Ester Capuzzo, Giorgio Conetti, Emiliano Loria, Marino Micich, Valeria Piergigli, Donatella Schürzel and Giovanni Stelli.
