From 5 to 7 August, Sanvincenti returns to the Middle Ages. In the most picturesque of ways: with the Medieval Festival, this year in its tenth edition. A round and important anniversary that promises to be rich in content. The announcement was made yesterday, at a press conference in the parade ground of the Morosini Grimani Castle, by the mayor of Sanvincenti, Dean Perković, the project manager, Larisa Kontošić and the director of the local Pro Loco, Dean Pustijanac.

The Festival returns after two years of forced break due to the pandemic and with the announced program it almost seems to want to forget the forced silence of swords and typical tenzoni of the era. Many medieval associations from some countries will make the event rich: Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, in addition, of course, to those from Croatia.

“The Festival is also important in economic terms and not only in terms of tourism or promotion, as a large number of local producers will have the opportunity to present and sell their products. The event is divided into three thematic days: the first (Friday) is dedicated to the family, the second day has chivalry as its theme, and the third is instead based on legends,” said Mayor Perković.

Dean Pustijanac then went through the stages of the three days. The Festival will open on August 5th at 18:19 pm, with the opening of the “doors” of the camps. At 19,30:XNUMX pm there will be a test of mastery by falconers; at XNUMX:XNUMX pm the procession is scheduled – which will pass through the streets of the town to then be received by the lady of the castle. A show within a show will be offered by the Gruppo Sbandieratori del Palio di Asti. Then again a “battle for the castle”, medieval duels. The three days will also include workshops (on calligraphy, dry painting and medieval fashion; archery and fencing), fire dancing, a medieval fair, gastronomic offerings with period dishes and… the burning of the castle: a show to remember the real flames that had swallowed up the manor.

Larisa Kontošić focused on the photography competition that accompanies the Festival: it will last from 5 to 14 August and you will participate with shots taken during the event. There is no participation fee and you will compete in three categories: action, night and portrait. For participation, please refer to the page www.photo.svetvincenat.hr. Each author can send a maximum of 3 photos. A commission will then decide the winner.

We were talking about the associations that will make the Festival a tribute to the Middle Ages. As many as 17 will participate in the event, with over 250 participants in costume. From Croatia there will be the associations Družba vitezova Zlatnog kaleža of Donja Stubica, Vitezovi Zelingradski of Sveti Ivana Zelina, Ordo Sancti viti, Udruga Mutila, Li Brutti, Parco tematico Sanc. Michael, Ujedinjena plemena; from Italy the Compagnia d'arme Malleus of Trieste, the Corpo di guardia of Gradara, Toi Ahi – danza del fuoco and the Gruppo sbandieratori del Palio di Asti; from Hungary the Halloenek Hungarica; from Slovenia the Vitezi Belega Volka of Celje and from Slovakia the Hector agentura, the Ursus and the Sokolary Sv Bavona. The historical association Kaštel of Sanvincenti will be the host.
And now for the entrance fees. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Castle until Thursday, August 4th at a price of 50 kuna for adults and 20 kuna for children over 14 years of age or taller than 115 cm. Children under 115 cm tall enter for free.
