At the Italian Film Festival – Le Stelle d'Argento, in the Documentary section, the documentary film Rotta 230° Ritorno alla terra dei padri (directed by Igor Biddau) will be screened on Tuesday 28 July at 17:45 pm in Room 2 of the Nuovo Cinema Caporali in Piazzetta San Domenico in Castiglione del Lago (PG): introduced by Paky Arcella.

This is a prestigious achievement for the film, which retraced the journey made in the summer of 2023 by the crew of Klizia , the vessel that brought exile Giulio Marongiu back to Pula for the first time after circumnavigating Italy from Fertilia, Sardinia. The film thus retraced the journey that in the spring of 1948 had brought 13 fishing boats (carrying 53 families of Italians who had fled Yugoslav-occupied Istria) from Chioggia to the Sardinian-founded city, left incomplete by the outbreak of the Second World War. It later became a place of welcome, resilience, and rebirth for hundreds of Istrian, Fiume, and Dalmatian exiles. A journey and a film in which personal memory, exodus, tragedies on the Adriatic border in the twentieth century, and reflections on identity have opened new perspectives on pages of Italian and European history that have been ignored for too long.
