Hidden Massacres: Between Cover-ups, Reasons of State, and International Interests
Hundreds of files on Nazi massacres committed in Italy remained hidden for decades and were later discovered in a dusty archive, including the Torlano massacre. A Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry questioned Giulio Andreotti, Oscar Luigi Scalfaro, Giuliano Vassalli, magistrates, military personnel, and journalists to shed light on the causes of the cover-up.
Starting from these findings, Mauro Tonino (essayist and member of the ANVGD Udine) carried out a historical/political analysis of the war events on the Eastern Border, the Yugoslav question, the post-war period, the Cold War, and an in-depth study of international relations.
A careful examination of documents and testimonies to uncover the omissions, cover-ups, and international interests that have prevented thousands of victims from receiving justice.
