120 students accompanied by 20 teachers are currently in Istria. The arrival is scheduled for today and the program will end on March 21. They come from Rome thanks to the commitment of Roma Capitale which for years has supported a project of knowledge of the lands of the eastern Adriatic, as a contribution to the Day of Remembrance and the introduction in schools of pages dedicated to the story of the eastern Adriatic, the Foibe and the Exodus. The trip will touch Rovinj, Umag and Trieste where the students will have the opportunity to meet witnesses of the exodus but also the Italian national community. The presence of Mayor Gianni Alemanno is also expected at some points of their itinerary.
