Christmas suggestions and Istrian memories
On Thursday 14 December, at 19:00 pm, in the evocative setting of the church of the Beata Vergine del Rosario (Piazza Vecchia) in Trieste, the Istrian Society of Archaeology and National History and the Trieste Conservatory of Music “Giuseppe Tartini” offer the public the concert for Soprano and Organ “Christmas Suggestions, Istrian Memories”, held by Serena Arnò and Valerio Simonini, students of the Singing and Organ classes.
The concert is organized with the support of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Department of Culture, Sport and Solidarity (Regional Law 16/2014, art. 27) and is part of a joint project that the Istrian Society is carrying forward, with the collaboration of Italian and foreign academics and scholars, on the theme “Musical production in Istria from its origins to the modern age”, soon to be published in “Atti e Memorie”, the Society's historic magazine.
The concert program, conceived by Rita Susovsky and Wladimir Matesic, teachers at the Conservatory, ranges, among others, from Camille Saint-Saëns to Giovanni Battista Candotti and Publio Carniel, ending with compositions by Don Giuseppe Radole, whose death the Conservatory recently commemorated with a series of events on the tenth anniversary of his death.
