"Let it go"
Three years after Manuele Braico's death, we remember him in this interview with Bruno Marini, a well-known name in local politics, currently representing Forza Italia in the Trieste City Council. "Councillor Marini, in a few days we will have the historic visit of the two Presidents of the Italian and Slovenian Republics to the Basovizza foiba, an important moment for the entire world of exiles. However, an important interpreter will be missing..." Manuele Braico is missed by all of us, by all those who work for a historic reconciliation, which now seems closer than before. A Mass for Norma Cossetto
On the evening of Monday, May 18, in the church of Notre Dame of Sion in Trieste, Don Ettore Malnati officiated a mass in memory of Norma Cossetto, gold medal for civil valor. Sunday, May 17, in fact, marked the centenary of the birth of the martyr of the foibe. When we talk about Life...

Nothing can erase the barbarity of the abuse she suffered, and yet I think of all the friends and family who enjoyed her smile in those few photos we have of her. Looking for happiness in tragedy is not wrong, just go back to the spring of '43 and think of her cycling from one town to another looking for documents for her thesis. She certainly wasn't...
There is still an under-representation of our history
Interview by Andrea Altin with Senator Maurizio Gasparri on the occasion of the 2020 Day of Remembrance ceremony which took place on Monday 10 February at the Basovizza Foiba National Monument. Senator, in your speech on the occasion of the solemn ceremony at the Basovizza foiba you referred to the period in which our history remained the subject of conversation for a few «There were many who knew what had happened in the eastern border areas, but there were few who had the courage to talk about it. Ever since I was a boy, the discussion of the exodus and the foibe was limited to a certain number of circles where politics was done» Now...
