The traveling theater festival "The Chariot of Thespis, Italian Theater in the Square" reaches its fifth edition this year. Launched in 2022 at the initiative of COMITES Fiume and the Italian Drama Association, the event brings professional Italian theater performances to the Italian communities of Istria and, for the first time, Kvarner every summer. Today, many performance spaces seem locked in their own rituals, confined to bourgeois audiences and limited seating. Some, however, load the theater onto an imaginary cart and carry it, with humble and determined steps, among the people, into the villages, where everyday life unfolds far from official circuits. The traveling theater festival “Il Carro di Tespi, Teatro italiano in piazza”, reaches its fourth edition this year to give the Istrian public a summer of unforgettable shows made of emotions, laughter and amazement. Two theater festivals are about to begin in Istrian squares to offer evenings of entertainment in Italian.
