An important anniversary is approaching for the town of Piran and the Italian community named after violinist and composer Giuseppe Tartini. He is the focus of the celebrations planned for this weekend, when, on Sunday, August 2nd, the 130th anniversary of the unveiling of the monument, created by sculptor Antonio Dal Zotto, which the people of Piran dedicated to him, will be marked. The central event is scheduled for 9:00 pm in Tartini Square, where a celebratory concert will be held. The "Giuseppe Tartini" Italian Community of Piran was a key player at the Escale International Maritime Festival, recently held in Sète, southern France. In the Slovenian-owned space, the Piran association set up a stand together with the "S. Mašera" Maritime Museum of Piran and the Koper Regional Museum, where the Famea dei Salinieri ethnographic group showcased traditional salt production. Casa Tartini in Piran hosts until Sunday 24th November the exhibition "D'Altre Acque" born from the synergy between the master glassmaker Antonio dei Rossi and the fashion designer Luca Giannola: this exhibition represents a tribute to Piran, to the ancient ties that exist between the Istrian city and Venice. Last year the two artists worked on the project "D'Acque", dedicated to Venice, to the city on the water, to the colours, to the reflections, to the movement of the waves.
