Towards the end of the 80s, in the Port of Trieste, work was underway on the construction of the Adria Terminal, a modern port infrastructure for the import and export of goods by ship. In order to have the space necessary for the construction of the new facility, two warehouses of the old Austro-Hungarian port had to be demolished; warehouse 21 and 22, both buildings overlooking the sea. The works on the second floor of the museum complex where the institution aimed at preserving and enhancing the traditions and historical and cultural heritage of the Italian populations of Istria will soon be set up have been completed.
