Hidden Massacres: Between Cover-ups, Reasons of State, and International Interests
Hundreds of files on Nazi massacres committed in Italy remained hidden for decades and were later rediscovered in a dusty archive, including the Torlano massacre. To shed light on the causes of the cover-up, a Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry interviewed Giulio Andreotti, Oscar Luigi Scalfaro, Giuliano Vassalli, magistrates, military personnel, and journalists. On Wednesday 29 November, at 18:00 pm at the Libreria Minerva (via San Nicolò, 20 – Trieste) there will be a presentation of the historical novel on the Foibe and the Julian-Dalmatian Exodus “Rossa terra” (L'Orto della Cultura, Udine 2013) by Mauro Tonino, writer and cultural operator.
