A Meeting of Multimedia Centers in Koper

A delegation from the Multimedia Documentation Centre of Julian, Istrian, Rijeka and Dalmatian Culture of Trieste (CDM) visited yesterday, Saturday 22 July 2023, the Italian Multimedia Centre “Gravisi” in Koper, established thanks to the European strategic project “PRIMIS – Multicultural journey between Italy and Slovenia through the prism of minorities / Večkulturno popotovanje med Slovenijo in Italijo skozi prizmo manjšin”, funded by the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Interreg VA Italy-Slovenia 2014-2020.

The President of the Italian Union, Maurizio Tremul, welcomed the CDM delegation, composed of its President, Cav. Renzo Codarin, the President of the CDM Scientific Committee, Prof. Giuseppe Parlato and the member of the CDM Scientific Committee, Prof. Davide Rossi.

The meeting is part of the increasingly close and intense collaborative relationships between the Italian National Community in Slovenia and Croatia (CNI) and the organizations of the Julian, Istrian, Fiume and Dalmatian exiles in the context of the broader agreement signed in July 2021 in Zagreb between Federesuli and the Italian Union. "The very welcome guests - reads the press release sent today by the Secretariat of the UI - were able to visit the Italian Multimedia Center 'Gravisi' in Koper, established by the Italian Union, which will host a complex, innovative and attractive multimedia presentation of the very rich material and immaterial cultural heritage of the Italian National Community in Slovenia and Croatia on its territory of indigenous settlement, its centuries-old history, its current presence and future prospects.

In this context, collaboration, synergy, exchange of multimedia material and the creation of new multilingual cultural products between the two entities, the joint production of training and educational offers for school children and student groups from Italy, Slovenia and Croatia, is taking on a strategic value, in a shared vision of common future development".

“During the very cordial and extremely fruitful meeting – the note specifies –, the representatives of the CDM and the Italian Union, in reconfirming their maximum commitment to the creation of the joint multimedia platform and the establishment of the Museum of the Exodus, with content jointly created by the CNI and the world of the Exiles, also identified new forms and methods for the further strengthening of the already existing multi-year mutual collaboration”.
