Life and history of the Stuparich brothers
On Tuesday, March 10th, at 8:30 pm, the Teatro Verdi in Trieste will perform the play "I fratelli," a moving journey through the lives of Carlo and Giani Stuparich. Admission is free, subject to availability.
The work is being co-organized by the Municipality of Trieste/Mayor's Office and the “Il Canovaccio” Aps theatre group, in collaboration with the Northern Operational Forces Command of the Italian Army.
The Northern Operational Forces Command and the “Il Canovaccio” theatre group have conceived a theatrical event dedicated to the Stuparich brothers, which has already been performed on several occasions.
Drawing inspiration from their writings and correspondence, the show reworks and creates a prose that sees through the eyes of soldiers who were also, and above all, brothers: the great conflicts and the human experiences of Giani and Carlo will run parallel, closely intertwined. The profound affection that imbues their bond will not be broken by anything, not even death. It will not be a mere historical account, but a journey through two passionate souls in an Italy still unbuilt.
On stage, in addition to the actors, the Command Wind Orchestra, a 40-piece ensemble drawn from the "Pozzuolo del Friuli" Cavalry Brigade Band, the "Folgore" Paratrooper Brigade Band, and the 11th Bersaglieri Regiment Band, will perform. A blend of music and words to experience a unique Italian story.
